AIMS OF SUBJECT:

To provide students with vocabulary for advanced themes for leaving certificate.
To build on grammar, verbs and sentence structure already done for JC.
To study the cultural nuances of the Germanics and compare them to Ireland.

RATIONALE FOR SUBJECT:

Students will:

Discuss their interests, family, locality and school in both oral and written contexts.
Listen to and decipher information on variety of topics from audio sources.
Understand the grammar of the language and use it correctly.
Have an understanding of the target language countries culture.
Experience the culture and language first hand in possible exchange/ school tour.
