AIMS OF SUBJECT:

  • To provide students with vocabulary for advanced themes for leaving certificate.
  • To build on grammar, verbs and sentence structure already done for JC.
  • To study the cultural nuances of the Germanics and compare them to Ireland.


RATIONALE FOR SUBJECT:

Students will:

  • Discuss their interests, family, locality and school in both oral and written contexts.
  • Listen to and decipher information on variety of topics from audio sources.
  • Understand the grammar of the language and use it correctly.
  • Have an understanding of the target language countries culture.
  • Experience the culture and language first hand in possible exchange/ school tour.
