DLS Macroom (1-13) vs Midleton CBS (0-09)

In a very tight game the CBS team struggled against a very strong breeze in the first half, which really destroyed their opportunity to stay in touch with a very strong Macroom team. If CBS had taken their chances in the first 10mins the half-time score would have been managiable, but 1-10 vs 0-01 was very difficult to claw back. Throughout the game there was some good performances from Josh Deady in corner-back he was very impressive with his defensive work as was the regularly reliable Brian Whelehan, who led from the front as captain and tried everything to drive his troops forward. Joe Millerick and Darren O'Driscoll worked tiredlessly in midfield against a very powerful partnership from Macroom, and up front Stephen Mc Carthy was a constant 'thorn in the side' of both Macroom and sometimes unfairly the referee. In truth CBS met a very powerful Macroom team who at times moved the ball so slick in the first half, which was very difficult for our boys to stop, Adam Murray was unlucky to be beaten at all in the contest, it took a well strucken penalty to blot his clean sheet!!
Potential for the future and a work in progress, would be a final assesment..
