Students are guaranteed two of their top three choices after indicating their preferences.

Classes for Junior Cycle are formed in at Halloween in 1st year with students selecting their two optional subjects. There are 8 core subjects plus 2 optional subjects (see the list above) to be prepared for examination. The Option Blocks are determined by the demand from the students. Of the six optional subjects on offer students are guaranteed two of their top three subjects selected.
