Open Day 2010

The school opens doors to prospective pupils and their parents on Monday 2nd November from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

 

The purpose of the Open Day is to provide an opportunity to view the facilities, to find out about curriculum and choice of subjects on offer and to question arrangements governing all facets of Secondary school life. Switching to Secondary school is a major change in a young person’s life from being the senior boys in their previous school to being the juniors in Sec school. Thus, it is very important to ensure that the student and his parents/guardians are happy with their choice of schooling, probable for those 6 very important years.

 

In preparation for the Open Day, the school Principal/Deputy Principal will visit the Primary Schools in the region, usually the week prior to the mid-term break, to inform students of the Open Day and provide a School Prospectus for essential information. If you wish to acquire a copy of the updated current Prospectus, you can do so by calling to the school office at the usual business hours around that time. A copy of last yr’s Prospectus may be available online but note that changes may have been made in the updated edition.

Harty Match ??

Well done to all the lads and their mentors in the Harty Cup campagin. Victory over St Colman's on Friday 20th Nov, ensures that Ard Scoil Ris and ourselves qualify from the group and advance to the Q-Final stages, draws to be held prior to Xmas.

 

In the meantime, it is hoped that the final of the O'Callaghan Cup (Cork Colleges 'A' hurling), might be played prior to the Xmas hols.


Meanwhile, the senior footballers will be in action in the 'B' colleges when they take on Spanish Point from Clare on Wed 25th at a venue, yet to be decided.
